The new Marlowe Theatre has opened In October the new Marlowe Theatre, seating 1200 people opened in Canterbury. With a second performance space, the Marlowe Studio seating 150 people, it has transformed the riverside landscape of Canterbury. The increased capacity will allow the biggest and best touring productions, shows and orchestras to entertain us. The photo on the left below shows the theatre reflected in the River Stour.
English Through Golf, with your trainer! Royal St George's at Sandwich, just 10 miles from Canterbury, was the scene of Darren Clarke's triumph in the 2011 Open Championship two weeks ago. One of the golf courses available on CLT's English On Course programme is Prince's (see photos below) which lies right next door to Royal St George's. There are many 'English plus Golf' programmes available on the market. Most of them separate the language training from the 'leisure' activity. We have created tailor made programmes in which the time spent playing golf represents a real opportunity to develop and practise communication skills. The client is partnered with John Miles, CLT's Managing Director, who is a qualified English trainer and mediocre golfer! The golf becomes an activity within the context of the communication skills training. It is particularly useful for executives for whom networking is a key business tool, and who enjoy a round of golf of course! We are currently producing a small brochure with full details and some case studies. It will be available on this website shortly. In the meantime, enquiries should be addressed directly to John Miles at john@clt.com .
High speed train service a big success The high speed train service between London St. Pancras International and Canterbury West Station has been running for over half a year now. It has cut the journey times to and from London from 90 to less than 60 minutes. Our clients have commented on how much they appreciate this service for weekend trips to London and on arrival and departure. CLT clients arriving at Heathrow and Gatwick airports can now make direct connections via London St. Pancras using under- or overground rail services, significantly simplifying journeys and reducing journey times. Many senior international managers, with advanced English communication skills, report the following issues:
This programme was developed in 2008 for the HR Director of a Swedish bank and the CFO of a French company. We are now offering it as part of our courses portfolio. Full brochure available here:
